AGING WITH VITALITY TRACK: DIGITAL CAREGIVING & EMPOWERED PATIENTS
Location: Tom Clark – Todd Hall
With the backdrop of the affordable care act, health providers are being penalized for cost of readmissions within 30 days. Meanwhile, society is faced with a huge disruptive demographic: the aging population. One can hardly discuss the aging tsunami without addressing the rising cost of healthcare, typically spent more in later years in life.
Everyone is looking to provide more cost-effective care, turning “man-to-man” professional caregivers into “zone caregivers”. This session will describe technologies that can help mitigate readmissions, manage chronic disease and socially empower patients at home.
