Right Caregiver. Right Place. Right Away.

The world’s most advanced nurse call system is calling you. It’s time to respond. See how RCare cares for elders.

This year’s Leading Age Boston conference was a definite win in so many ways. In celebration of our new G4 Advanced Locating Protocol launch, we gave away a pile of prizes: G4 power phone adaptors, sweet treats and Kindle Fire tablets. We sent our RCare spotters on the floor every 30 minutes to give out over 28 kindle fires and boy were the winners surprised.  We caught it on video.  Check out these very enthusiastic winners!

And not to brag, but we won something, too—Leading Age Idea Sharks. We pitched to the sharks and took home the maximum dollars possible. We’re matching those dollars and donating it all to the Larry Minnix Innovation Fund. Watch RCare’s Greg Meade DOMINATE the shark tank!

For Immediate Release:

RCare releases its most exciting technology, the G4, unleashing the power of Advanced Location Protocol and enabling nursing staff to finally know exactly on which floor the pendants are pushed

BOSTON — November 2, 2015

RCARE announced today at the Boston LeadingAge National Conference (Booth #1526), the official release of RCare G4 with Advanced Location Protocol (ALP), the fastest, most advanced and accurate nurse call technology on the market.  Rochester-based RCare has seamlessly integrated the new cutting-edge location technology into their existing senior living nurse call and monitoring system offerings.  It even works with their patent-pending mobile nurse handset solution, RCare Mobile, featuring the innovative “I Got It” button.

RCare’s revolutionary ALP uses proprietary algorithms to determine the location and floor number of the resident and alert staff faster than ever before with a pinpoint location, an unmatched feature in the senior housing industry.  The G4 also boasts an increase in processing speed of over 10,000% for improved error cancellation and lightning-fast response speeds. This means a resident emergency call is instantaneously dispatched and taken care of by designated staff.

For the first time, staff in multilevel communities will be able to pin-point the location and floor number of a pressed RCare pendant, a struggle that long term care and senior housing providers have been faced with since the inception of wireless call systems.” said RCare founder and president, Myron Kowal. “After years of research and development, we are proud to unveil this latest addition to our RCare family”.

Using state-of-the-art Dual Modulation technology, RCare’s G4 penetrates buildings better, and reaches farther to cover even the largest senior communities.  It also uses secured two-way error checking, ensuring the right caregiver is dispatched to the right resident at the right time–every time. Its new Virtual location technology enables greater resident independence while reducing risk.

“We use RCare to make sure our residents receive the care they need, as rapidly as they need it,” said Janelle Zacho, Director of Nursing from Columbia Health Services. “It’s helped with accountability, reducing caregiver burnout and ensuring resident safety and satisfaction.”

For communities with existing Response Care systems, G4 is fully compatible with existing transmitters for easy upgrading..

“The LeadingAge National convention is a natural venue for RCare to release the G4 technology”, said Amanda Marr, VP of Communications for LeadingAge. “RCare shines as an example of a technology provider committed to improving the aging experience in America by leading the way through innovative care and services”.

LIS_2015RCare is honored to be selected for this year’s Louisville Innovation Summit October 14-17.

Myron Kowal was chosen to be on a panel discussion about technologies that can help mitigate hospital readmissions, manage chronic disease and empower patients/residents to be more independent.  This panel will be moderated by digital health industry expert, Laura Mitchell of Laura Mitchell Consulting.  Joining him is the chief medical officer of grandCARE, Erick Eiting.

1:00 P.M. October 14th, 2015

Location: Tom Clark – Todd Hall

With the backdrop of the affordable care act, health providers are being penalized for cost of readmissions within 30 days. Meanwhile, society is faced with a huge disruptive demographic: the aging population. One can hardly discuss the aging tsunami without addressing the rising cost of healthcare, typically spent more in later years in life.

Everyone is looking to provide more cost-effective care, turning “man-to-man” professional caregivers into “zone caregivers”. This session will describe technologies that can help mitigate readmissions, manage chronic disease and socially empower patients at home.

The RCare mission is to help caregivers provide quality care, safety and security for their patients, residents and loved ones by providing state-of-the-art, reliable communications. We promote the prudent and caring use of these technologies to Healthcare and Eldercare Communities so that those in need may live with independence and dignity.

RCare founder, Myron Kowal, was selected to appear on Karen Jagoda’s Empowered Patient Radio Show this week.

Karen caught Myron in his Rochester, NY office late Wednesday afternoon.  They had a wonderful conversation  discussing  the development of wireless mobility monitoring systems, the impact of advanced location protocol technology on rapid response and RCare Inc‘s ground breaking technology .  Myron helped the listeners to understand how technology is helping individuals to remain safer, more independent and empowering caregivers with actionable, results-driven data.

He also announced some TOP secret news about RCare’s November latest innovative launch!  Learn about the pivotal Advanced Location Tracking protocol that RCare has perfected and will be officially announcing at the LeadingAge National Convention in Boston.

senior_danceIn honor of National Assisted Living Week, we at RCare salute the seniors and caregivers who create these thriving communities.  We don’t work in them or live in them (yet!), but we have a deep appreciation for the hard work and the love that makes these special places work.

We’re very proud of the work we do at RCare.  It is our belief that new technologies like the Advanced Location Protocol found in our new G4 software makes communities safer and happier.  But we also understand that without people none of it would do anything at all.

Thank you for being who you are and for doing what you do.  It’s what inspires us to do what we do.
The RCare Team

As we plan our barbecues and family gatherings in anticipation of Labor Day, we got to thinking.  How many of us really appreciate the true meaning of the holiday?  Most of us probably don’t think beyond the guest list or the extra day of yard work to reflect on why we have this American holiday in the first place.

According to Wikipedia, “Labor Day in the United States is a public holiday celebrated on the first Monday in September. It honors the American labor movement and the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of their country.”

elder_careAt RCare, we started to reflect on how critical all of the workers are in our sector, the long term care industry. If it weren’t for these valuable, compassionate and hardworking people, who would provide hands on care and assistance our aged, disabled and sick population?  We rely on these humble heroes to heal, enable, support, and take care some of the messy daily work that comes along with any type of caregiving (eg. bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, etc.).

RCare is passionate about helping long term care communities by empowering these caregiving staff members. We want to make their work environment better, easier and more efficient. We want communities to be a better place to live, to work, and to visit. We do this by making caregivers feel connected to each other, to residents and to management. We do this by empowering professional caregivers to make better decisions and allow them to track success. We do this because without our incredible customers, long term care would cease to exist as we know it.

On this Labor Day, we would like to thank our long term and other healthcare providers and celebrate all of the workers out there. We want to give an extra special shout out to the hard working caregivers in the trenches, the long term care administration and to all of those unpaid family caregivers that devote endless time and dedication to this noble cause.  You are amazing.

Happy Labor Day from RCare.
